What is involved in a family law property settlement?

There are a number of issues to be considered for a property settlement, some of which you may not even have thought are relevant, such as your and your former partner’s superannuation entitlements. Further issues to be considered may include:

  • assets and liabilities of each party,
  • how much did  each party contribute financially,
  • domestic duties performed by each party,
  • who looked after the children,
  • superannuation,
  • any gifts received and
  • inheritances.
