What is involved in a family law property settlement?
There are a number of issues to be considered for a property settlement, some of which you may not even have thought are relevant, such as your and your former partner’s superannuation entitlements. Further issues to be considered may include:
- assets and liabilities of each party,
- how much did each party contribute financially,
- domestic duties performed by each party,
- who looked after the children,
- superannuation,
- any gifts received and
- inheritances.
